20 Perusahaan Pertambangan Diselidiki

Tim terpadu yang dimotori Kementerian Kehutanan mulai menyelidiki 20 perusahaan di Kalimantan yang diduga menambang batu bara dengan merambah hutan. Kegiatan ini dinilai melanggar karena merusak lingkungan dan beroperasi tanpa izin pinjam pakai kawasan hutan dari Menteri Kehutanan.

Hal itu dikemukakan Menteri Kehutanan Zulkifli Hasan kepada wartawan di Bandara Supadio, Kubu Raya, Kalimantan Barat, Sabtu (20/2). Tim terpadu terdiri atas Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi, Kejaksaan Agung, Kepolisian Republik Indonesia, dan Kementerian Kehutanan.

Zulkifli meminta instansi kehutanan di daerah mulai mengidentifikasi dan mengumpulkan bahan untuk keperluan penyidikan tanpa menunggu pemerintah pusat.

Kepala Pusat Informasi Kementerian Kehutanan Masyhud yang dihubungi dari Pontianak mengatakan, tim terpadu mulai mengidentifikasi status tambang dari 20 perusahaan itu, termasuk yang mengeluarkan izin. Tim sudah memetakan lokasi tambang berdasarkan citra satelit.

Kepala Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Pembinaan Pelestarian Alam Dinas Kehutanan Kalimantan Timur Wahyu Widi Heratana di Kota Samarinda, Senin (22/2), menuturkan, tim dari Kementerian datang sekitar tiga minggu lalu ke Kaltim, tetapi pihaknya belum mengetahui hasilnya.

Sebelum tim turun, pihaknya sudah melaporkan kondisi pertambangan di kawasan hutan Kaltim kepada Kementerian Kehutanan. Dinas Kehutanan Kaltim mencatat, wilayah konsesi sembilan kuasa pertambangan (KP) masuk Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) Bukit Soeharto sehingga diusulkan kepada Pemkab Kutai Kartanegara agar izinnya dicabut.

Pemkab Kutai Kartanegara, kata Wahyu, menerbitkan 52 izin KP yang wilayah konsesinya ada di dalam dan sekitar Tahura Bukit Soeharto. Dari jumlah itu, ada 12 KP yang wilayah konsesinya tumpang tindih dengan tahura. Dua KP, yakni CV Bintang Pelangi Nusantara dan CV Pelangi Borneo, dicabut Mei 2009. Satu KP yang dipegang CV Dwi Karya masih diproses pencabutannya.

Kawasan konservasi dilarang ditambang kecuali memiliki izin pinjam pakai dari Menteri Kehutanan. ”Masih ada sembilan KP yang wilayah konsesinya tumpang tindih dengan tahura,” kata Wahyu.

Di Banjarmasin, saat ditanya tindak lanjut hasil inspeksi Menteri Lingkungan Hidup ke lokasi-lokasi tambang di Kabupaten Tapin dan Banjar, dua minggu lalu, Gubernur Kalsel Rudy Ariffin mengatakan, pihaknya sampai saat ini belum menerima rekomendasi menteri.

”Hasil temuan kerusakan lingkungan perlu didetailkan sehingga daerah bisa melakukan tindakan tepat,” kata Rudy seusai meresmikan gedung serba guna dan wisma di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Sekolah Luar Biasa C, Landasan Ulin Barat, Banjarbaru, Senin.(AHA/BRO/WER)

October 23rd, 2009, the next day, October 24th, in conjunction with the 'United Nations Day' and 'The International Day of Climate Action', 'The Climate Project Indonesia' will continue the campaign to a larger audience through organizing an event called "350. Berani?!" or "350. Dare?!" in 2 locations. "Teater Utan Kayu" and "Darmawangsa Square" This event is a cooperation between The Climate Project Indonesia, '89,2 FM Green Radio' and 'Life Begins @ 40'.

Why 350? 350 refers to 350 ppm, the save level of atmospheric CO2 concentration. In September 2009, the atmospheric CO2 concentration has reached 384.78 ppm.

3. Discussion with Dorothy Manalu from DNPI and Suzy Hutomo from the Body Shop (Climate Change Campaigner trained by Mr.Al Gore)

- "The Green Lifestyle Clinics". Consult with our 'green' doctors to get tips on how to contribute to the efforts to tackle the climate crisis. Our 'green' doctors are: Dicky Edwin Hindarto (energy efficiency, carbon trading), Suzy Hutomo (green home & green business), Nana Firman (green architecture), Yani Saloh (garden & forestry) and Indra Prakoso (hobby).

- Signing of "Declaration to Secure our Future". This declaration was initiated by Mr. Al Gore with The Climate Project. The signing of this declaration is unique. It is written in a piece of fabric using Batik wax. The participants will sign the declaration with wax using 'canting' (the tool to make Batik). The signed declaration will then be processed to become a piece of Batik. We will send this piece of Batik to Al Gore who will bring it to COP 15 in Copenhagen.
